Number Four for 2015

I already have four paintings under my belt for the year and only one was 8x10 or smaller.  That's not counting the two plein air paintings that we won't discuss.  I haven't found my way back to winter though, maybe the next painting.

This painting is based on a photo I took several years ago in Wanship next to the Weber River.  I'm thankful that some of the private land owners have cooperated with Division of Wildlife Resources to allow access to the river on their land.  While that access is primarily for anglers I've taken advantage of it to get access to landscape views I otherwise would not be able to see.  That's the case with this landscape, in fact I had a good visit with the property owner's horse while I was sketching there.
